Anyways, they had this award show called the MTVu Woodie Awards, and Best Coast won for 'Best Video' for "Our Deal" directed by Drew Barrymore. The funny thing is that this video was 'sponsored content' that was produced thanks to MTV and the Kashi brand. So she won an award for Best Video from the ppl that paid 4 the video. I guess that is 'kewl', but she is just 'playing the game,' letting MTV know that she will do anything to get mainstream coverage and have her song played while a girl is giving birth during TEEN MOM.

It seems as though Best Coast is doing everything that she can to 'leave' the bullying indiesphere, and instead try to breakthru into MTV markets. I don't blame her, it seems like the indiesphere is sorta 'over' her, but u never know if joining forces with MTV will actually help her sell albums, or if it will just make her 'another shitty buzzband' played while a girl has an on-camera vacuum abortion during the Real World.
Recently, WAVVES had one of his dumb songs featured as the theme song for MTV's "I Just Want My Pants Back." I feel bad for him, because he should sorta be riding 'indie punk' waves, but instead he is stuck being in a relationship with Bethany, and he has to 'take meetings' with MTV execs so they can pay him and he can make sure that they can pay the cable bill.
Anyways, she is super proud of her award/'pimping' MTV to try to make it seem like they are buzzworthy, or something. Guess that's just what Twitter is 4.
